Mr. Ratliff currently works as a Principal Planner with Hillsborough County Public Works, having worked previously for over 10 years as an urban planning consultant.

He is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Civil Mediator. Among Mr. Ratliff’s focus areas are land use and entitlement planning, Transit Oriented Development, affordable housing, mediation and conflict resolution, public involvement and outreach, project and process management, and policy planning.

Mr. Ratliff attended Florida State University where he received his Masters of Science in Planning and a Certificate in Urban Design. He holds memberships in the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) and American Planning Association (APA), was recently certified as a Professional Transportation Planner (PTP).

Mr. Ratliff has served as Chairman of the Sun Coast Section of the Florida Chapter of the APA, also serving on the Chapter’s Executive Committee. Other activities have included serving as a Tampa Historic Streetcar Board appointee to the organization’s Marketing Committee, as well as volunteering as a Guardian ad Litem.
